Communicating with the multidimensional Realms of Gaia

0

Gaia was the name given by the ancient Greeks to the Earth goddess. In our modern western societies, we have progressively distanced ourselves from Gaia and the vast web of life, physical and spiritual, which she nurtures.

Communicating with the multidimensional Realms of Gaia
Exploring Great Mystery - making the extraordinary, ordinary and the ordinary, extraordinary

with Dr Jude Currivan
12pm Los Angeles • 3pm New York • 8pm London

Communing with the Earth as a living being enables you to re-establish your co-creative relationship with her and expand your own inner perception of her multi-dimensional realms of consciousness.

During this online salon we’ll delve into the emerging phenomenon of orbs and the realms of Faerie, Elemental and Devic beings to discover how you can communicate with them and how vital this is to helping heal and deepen your relationship with Gaia.

We’ll also explore how such communication can offer profound insights into answering such questions as what’s really going on with Gaia’s climate? To what extent is it part of a natural cycle – or indeed to Gaia’s evolution? To what extent are we responsible? And what can we do for the benefit of All Life to resolve the environmental problems we have and continue to cause?

As our collective Shift of consciousness gathers pace, we are realizing that this is a Shift not only for humanity but for Gaia too. By consciously re-connecting with her at this critical time, we are each able to be in service, not only to our own ascension in awareness but to our collective human family, Gaia and all her children.

The "Ribbon of Holes" in Peru

Contributing Editor Guillermo D. Gimenez has posted a photo of one of the most unusual formation in Latin America: The "Banda de Agujeros" (literally, the "ribbon of holes") near the Peruvian valley of Pisco, on the plain of Cajarmarquilla. Thousands of man-sized holes were drilled into rock at some unknown period in the past, covering over a mile of terrain. Archaeologists have speculated that these structures functioned as granaries - an unlikely possibility - as some of them are shallow while others plunge to depths of seventy-five feet. -- SC.

Mayday and the unsurpassable human spirit

0

This Mayday summer is clearly behind schedule. Lovely yellow daffodils are late along with other flowers of springtime.

By Mayday in the north of Britain we usually have by this time seen attractive cherry tree blossom, hanging in beautiful pink clusters. However, the damp and chilly spring weather appears to be hanging on tightly at all costs.

Click here to enlarge top photo.

Man-made calendars, so beloved of that great control freak the Church, really have no place in the natural seasonal cycle. Mother Nature will decide what is what and when the summer should genuinely commence. The so-called ‘Resurrection’ ethos found within death cults like the Church is nothing more than hollow and rehashed ideals, deviously grounded upon the natural rebirth within the universal cycles of nature. The shrewd Church in fact built their Jesus Myth around the seasonal cycle and older Pagan agricultural calendar.

Traditionally, the wonderful month of May gains its name from the Roman/Greek fertility goddess ‘Maia’, mother of the god Mercury. She was equated with Fauna, Cybele and Ops; goddesses who were deeply loved and cherished by the masses. Fauna's feast day was held on the opening night of May. It was a sacred occasion exclusive to women, as the men honoured Fauna's masculine partner Faunus instead. During Fauna's carnival wine and music blended with magickal ritual.  This produced an outlandish yet blissful mixture of reverberation and adulation for the divinity.

From the 28th April to the 3rd of May a festival called the Floralia occurred in tribute to the Sabine Flora, patron goddess of blossoming gardens. Virgil claimed that young folk would venture out at Floralia to pick summer flowers from field, woodland and pasture. Much singing and dancing took place and this natural Pagan love of life has come down to us today in the form of present-day Maypole/day festivities.

May Queen and King Parades can easily be traced back to ancient Rome and beyond. Roman children cheerfully adorned diminutive clay statues of the Goddess with fine-looking wild blossoms as a token of love and admiration. The early Church, ever eager to overwhelm native Pagan religion, craftily usurped Flora and swapped her image for one of the Virgin Mary thereby gaining spiritual domination over the credulous and suppressed population.

Lovely natural places hold many local spirits that can be seen and felt if you only ‘open up’ your heart, mind, and soul to them. Our ancient ancestors knew these truths, yet modern man with his synthetic technology is losing this elemental ability.

Flora was regularly depicted as a young maiden dressed in a floral coronet. She held two principal temples at Rome. Consequently, it is clear that her devotion from the Pagan masses was regarded as a menace to the narrow-minded Church Fathers, hence their devious attention, ultimately resulting in Christian insurrection of Flora's sacred feast day.

Flora's veneration is however not to be trampled so easily. Her spiritual splendour will forever remain in the hearts of the few who truly ‘listen’ to the sounds of nature.

The intimate love of nature and life itself will always ensure that the repressive mind control structure that is the Church will never fully drum out the organic Paganism that many people today feel is so wholesome in their hearts and souls.

Mother Nature will win though in the end and no amount of man-made scriptural ethos and lies will ever fully conquer the human spirit.

From Mars To Earth, Matteo Ianneo's Archaeological Research

0
0
I have devoted a great deal of time in research into archaeological discoveries on the planet Mars, beginning years ago with the discoveries made by Richard C. Hoagland's analysis of pictures of the Martian surface, sent back to earth by Viking 1 in 1976. In his analysis of the pictures he discovered he found a defined face, unnatural pyramid formations, and evidence of an ancient city in the Cydonia region of Mars.

More recently, in the last few years a new extraterrestrial archaeologist has come on the scene with even more amazing discoveries, pointing to Mars once having an ancient modern civilization as well as the possibility that certain structures and formations were constructed on earth to be viewed from space. This man is Italian researcher Matteo Ianneo who has discovered many artificial structures and anomalies on the Martian surface from that of new faces, symbols, evidence of water, and even that of once great cities. Matteo's amazing discoveries can be viewed at the link below.

Recently, his research has taken his interests to exploring ancient sites and structures here on earth. His discovery of a face on one of the rocks at Stonehenge and speculation as to how the huge rocks were transported there, gives new meaning to the purpose of Stonehenge itself and possibilities of why the rock structure is in the area it is and who may have constructed it.

A full report of Matteo Ianneo's Stonehenge discovery can be viewed here.

In Matteo's own words:

According to my theory, man has already arrived on Mars and other planets for some time. And we are only a genetic experiment of other civilizations in remote space.
My passion began several years ago when I began to study the maps of purely devoted to agriculture.

I am 48 years old and living in a country where people get up early in the morning to go to take care of the fields and lands. Living in the suburbs and not having the fast internet service, I had to do my research with great effort while using an old modem and thanks to it; I have done my study of this with some great difficulties.

It was hard for me to tell friends the results of my research. Everyone looked at me surprised, and I must tell you that I indeed have looked at the Devonian Era in the face.

Stonehenge Analysis:

This monument’s facets and peculiarly in fact, cannot have been created by nature or erosion, I see an eye, nose, the head, and a mouth. So, I appeal to all students of the Stonehenge phenomena, what fate or revelation have we discovered with this face? These sculptures now contradict the studies conducted by many great scientists and archaeologists, if it was brought to its present location by humans, they should only be bare stones. But if there are faces carved on the surface this means that these stones came from another part of the world, perhaps a great ancient city, even from a place such as Atlantis, it may have been stolen from them because the stones have a value of considerable importance.

According to my hypothesis, if faces are imprinted on each of the stones, then the thesis by the great observatory scientists must have been speculated incorrectly. In my opinion, the face represents much more than what has been found out about Stonehenge so far. It means that there is a different story to be told from what is assumed today. The figures could be from a people more ancient than was previously thought. Perhaps, stolen by someone and put into the position which we see today, and they represent something more important. Perhaps even from the gods of some ancient Egyptian city or from Africa.

The Stonehenge faces do keep within them something of a mystery. If you look closely, the faces are very large. This means that they may have come from a big city with a proud culture. A city still undiscovered. Many scientists say that the stones were originally from 30km away from the place where it now sits. So, I wonder if the stone was cut somewhere else and brought to its present location. What can we learn from the face and what culture is portrayed on the stones?

Matteo Ianneo's work continues with new discoveries being made on a constant basis. One day in the near future, his discoveries are likely to lead to a new ideal of our own origins as a species as well as answer the question of why we are being visited by beings from the cosmos

Are There Really Monsters Out There and What Does The Government Know About Them?

0
0

For absolutely decades, rumors, tales and legends have surfaced to the effect that government agencies  all around the world and since at least the early to mid1800s onwards - have been secretly collecting and carefully studying data on bizarre beasts, extraordinary animals, and strange creatures. Lake monsters, psychic dogs and cats, sea serpents, flying monsters, werewolves, the Abominable Snowman, and the Unit huge, hair-covered man-beast known as Bigfoot: each and every one of them has attracted official, classified interest at one time or another, and sometimes for decades, no less. Not only that, those very same rumors, tales and legends have provoked numerous controversial and astounding questions, including...

Does the Pentagon's top brass, deep in a secure underground bunker, secretly have one or more dead Bigfoot on ice? And, if so, has a study and autopsy of these unique corpses shown the creatures to simply be apes of a type that zoology has yet to officially categorize? Or, are they something far weirder? Might they possibly, and incredibly, even be beastly entities linked to the many and varied intricacies that lie behind the UFO phenomenon?

What bizarre truths are the militaries of the United States and the United Kingdom hiding from us about long-necked lake monsters, such as the famous Nessie of Scotland's Loch Ness" Are they really surviving example of prehistoric creatures that we are assured became extinct millions of years ago? Or could they, in a very curious and convoluted fashion, be the curious and top secret creations of government itself?

How on earth can there be a link between the clandestine and controversial operations of the Central Intelligence Agency and those dark and diabolical denizens of the Himalayas known as the Abominable Snowmen? Does the CIA secretly know that this immense and legendary creature  also referred to as the Yeti  really does exist in those wild, icy mountains" Or does officialdom's interest in the hairy think revolve around matters that have far less to do with the world of monster hunting and far more to do with top secret espionage of a type that dates back to the very height of the Cold War?

Why does an old and faded British Government file exist on sightings of Godzilla-sized monsters of the seas" Is Britain's Royal Navy sitting on amazing classified evidence suggesting that such leviathan-like creatures really are among us and are not just the stuff of sea-faring legend?

What do the Russians know about both extra-sensory perception and life after death in animals? Has the Kremlin, incredibly, discovered that animals have souls and that bodily death is not the end of life as we, and just about every other living thing on the planet too, knows it? Did the United States Army, at the height of the Cold War, try and use psychic dogs in covert military missions against the former Soviet Union?

Are presumed-extinct animals, known to officialdom, still roaming around the forests of Australia, creatures that range from a gigantic marauding lizard to one of the strangest  marsupials that ever existed?

And what is the top secret connection between the late Diana, Princess of Wales, and large, savage cats prowling around the foggy and mysterious wilds of southwest England? How could there even be a connection, in the first place, between the highest echelons of  Britain's Royal Family and exotic felines that the government of the United Kingdom assures both its citizens and the media alike are nothing more than the results of mistaken identity and folklore rolled into one controversial brew?

These are just a few of the many amazing issues that are rumored to have secretly tasked and worried the finest minds of the CIA, the FBI, the British Royal Navy, the Australian Government, the state-sponsored scientists of the former Soviet Union, and the U.S. Army, Navy, and Air Force. For years, agencies of government have taken an astonishingly deep interest in those legendary creatures that mainstream science and zoology assure us do not, and simply cannot, exist  but that just might be doing exactly that, after all.

Monsters are not myths, fantasy, legend or folklore. In their own very odd and unique ways, they are all too terrifyingly real. And the governments of our world secretly know it, too. But they don't want you to know the monsterous truth.

Untouched Royal Tomb Found in Peru

With eyes wide open, a painted Wari lord stares out from the side of a 1,200-year-old ceramic flask …

Publisher's Note: Received an email from Victor The Sky Wizard who sent me and his other friends notice that an amazing discovery has been found in Peru. In the Internet version of LiveScience an article by Megan Gannon, News Editor breaks a story claiming that a rare, undistrurbed royal tomb has been found. Read below. Dirk

By Megan Gannon

A rare, undisturbed royal tomb has been unearthed in Peru, revealing the graves of three Wari queens buried alongside gold and silver riches and possible human sacrifices.

Though the surrounding site has been looted many times, this mausoleum has managed to evade grave robbers for hundreds of years, archaeologists say.

Long before the Inca built Machu Picchu, the Wari empire flourished between A.D. 700 and 1000 throughout much of present-day Peru. At a time when Paris had just 25,000 residents, the Wari capital Huari was home to 40,000 people at its height, according to National Geographic, which reported the find.

Magic of Celtic Ireland Tour 2013

Courtesy of Great Mystery Secret Tours

Publisher's Note:It has been several decades since I visited Ireland but I still remember that trip as if it were yesterday. This was a special trip as I was able to takemy 20-year son Rob with me. At this time I was a magazine publisher and was writing an article on Irish Tourism. We managed to visit quite a few of the places mentioned for this trip. I can tell you is truly one of the most beautiful cities in the workd and Trinity College in Dublin is like a time-machine to the past. I know it is a cliche but the greenest grass I ever saw was in Ireland. I would definitely recommend a trip to Ireland for those of you who haven't experienced the Irish people and their countryside. Dirk

There is a magic about Ireland which is recognized by people worldwide, maybe because its name means Land of the Goddess Eriu. Be open to magic and it will happen! - our Celtic ancestors knew this and they are inviting you to do the same…

The varied landscape of lush green meadows, mountain ranges and spectacular coastline certainly lead one to believe that this land is blessed and stories of fairy folk and leprechauns also reflect the belief that the land has guardians. Our travels will take us back in time and into the realms of myth, legend and deep wisdom as we make a circular journey through the provinces of the Republic of Ireland visiting sites revered as sacred by Pagans and Christians for thousands of years. This opens a doorway for each of us to discover forgotten aspects of our inner world.

Click here to enlarge top photo.

After collection from Dublin airport we start our journey in the old town of Kells, famous for The Book of Kells and its five High Crosses, - the fifth one the locals are still looking for!

We are in the eastern province of Leinster where we get a bird’s eye view of seventeen counties from the top of Loughcrew or Slieve na Caillighe- the Mountain of the Witch. This site has been revered beyond memory.

Next we visit Newgrange and Knowth cairns, Ireland’s most famous Neolithic sites. We enter deep into the centre of Newgrange cairn, a place that was used for spiritual ceremony before Stonehenge was built! At Knowth we see some of the finest Neolithic stone carvings in Europe.

The ancient seat of the high kings of Ireland at Tara is the traditional center of this province, located by a holy well. What secrets will it share with us? We will use the wonderful acoustic properties of Fourknocks underground chamber where we have private access to connect through ceremony with the ancient energies of this land.

Making our way west we enter the province of Connaught. Here we explore the western center of Cruachain. At Rath Cruachain, the coronation site of the kings of Connaught, we hear from our local guide of Maebh, both queen and goddess, and her epic adventures in this land. Close by is Oweynagat, the Cave of the Cats or the entrance into the Underworld. Visiting County Sligo, in the west, we’ll explore Ireland’s largest megalithic complex at Carrrowmore and the spectacular site of Carrowkeel, set high in the Bricklieve Mountains.

Moving further south into Munster province we will be treated to spectacular scenery as we drive around the world-famous Ring of Kerry and stop halfway to discover some of Ireland’s early Christian heritage on the rocky isle of Skellig Michael. We take the ferry ride across to the island where we find monastic beehive huts perched seven hundred feet up the hillside exactly where two powerful earth energy currents cross - this is Ireland’s equivalent of Machu Picchu. We stay in world-renowned Killarney and sample traditional Irish music and maybe a pint of Guinness in one of the many local pubs. En route to County Wicklow we will stop at the Rock of Cashel where kingship was empowered by the land.

Heading across to County Wicklow in the southeast we stay in the oldest inn in Ireland. Nearby is the oldest working woolen mill in the country, Avoca Handweavers. Watch the traditional looms at work before browsing the selection of gifts and clothing on offer. We venture into the Wicklow mountains to visit Glendalough, an atmospheric former monastic community complete with a round tower set in a valley of outstanding natural beauty containing two lakes.

Our remarkable journey being complete we return to Dublin airport for flights home but the impact of your time in Ireland will stay with you forever!

TV and the Paranormal

0
0

Like many of those interested in the paranormal I watch all the paranormal based TV shows that seem limitless. I do have a few that I find worth watching where well investigated ideas, information and evidence are presented with intelligent conversation providing the viewing public with worthwhile material. I have gained insight and have been able to educate myself on many topics I did not understand or had little or no knowledge about by way of a few well done shows. I enjoy and look forward to my small list of shows that fall in to that category.

My problem is all the other shows that pollute and by way of their ridiculous presentations of fake events and investigations leave the public unable to detect what is real information and what is a pile of malarkey!

At this point I have to ask myself if this saturation of insulting garbage is being tossed at us for the pure purpose of making money by the developers of the shows or if it is something more?  It has gotten to the point one has got to ask if there is a bigger purpose to the huge amount of disinformation being forced on the public. Could presenting ridiculous situations handled by bumbling fools ending with useless exploits be a way to drive us away from being concerned, rationally interested and wanting answers about some very curious and potentially dangerous topics?

The straw that broke this camel’s back came while watching a few episodes of a popular ghost hunting show. The show should be banned as the methods the young men use in their adventures are is his dangerous and foolish. The fact this tattooed often shirtless host often risks his life is one thing. My fear is that   young impressionable people may copy his antics and that could prove fatal for some teen that may idolize this foolish host of this ghost hunting show. He never seems to obtain any proof, or evidence that is substantial or useful.  His show continues without restrictions or seemingly without concern about the harm his methods may do to an innocent naive audience.  It was during an episode of this show where the host laid down under a large sharp ax hanging over a doorway and dared an angry ghost to drop the ax over his out stretched neck while he laid on the floor with his neck out stretched daring the ghost to behead him. I wonder how the show would have explained it if in fact the angry ghost had quickly and swiftly dropped that sharp ax across this ridiculous young mans out stretched neck detaching his head from his fool hearted shoulders?

Of course the show made sure (hopefully) that this would not occur. What they did not think about is the large number of silly non thinking young people who faithfully watch this show trying to duplicate the same antics in a location they may think is haunted or paranormal in nature. What if after seeing this host endanger himself over and over they follow the same route without the backdrop of a  staff of people co coordinating and choreographing the events on the show and wander off to find a real ax that could fall dead in to the top of their head.  Do the people writing and designing these awful segments ever consider the consequences of the garbage they are presenting to their viewing public?

Shows like that one really annoy me but the real camel back breaker came for me with the Mountain Monsters show now airing. For years real researchers have been spending endless hours and money investigating the reports of all the topics we consider unknown. Many trained hunters and researchers have spent years in pursuit of the truth concerning the world wide sightings of the Bigfoot creatures, strange unknown animals as well as moth man sightings among many other topics. There are organizations that have spent years trying to find real hard evidence concerning these anomalies that deserve our credit and interest. I can only wonder what these good hard working people think when they see episodes like the one I recently watched where a group of broken down mountain hillbilly men go out on a one day trip to hunt out a big foot which they rename the grass man.

They claim this creature is 9 feet tall nearly 1000 pounds living in a wooded area they intend to search. Not only do they   find this grass man on their one day hunt but are handed an excellent video provided by a local of this beast. They quickly build a trap to catch this grass man creature in which they claim the beast watches the one man they send out alone to build the trap. One has to wonder why they would allow one man alone out in the grass man creature’s territory to build a trap that the creature watches him build but that seems to go by without thought in this ridiculous show. Of course the group of men immediately find a Bigfoot house that contains a Bigfoot nest. Of course they get attacked by the big foot and run about yelling and screaming as the supposed beast attacks the house they are searching. A lot of running around the empty house takes place before they decide the beast simply decided to run away. They return to see if the grass man who watched them build the trap – ran to it and jumped into it which was truly laughable and of course no creature was found.

Amazingly perfect large animal tracks were found in abundance all over the place. According to the show the Bigfoot just misses the trap but they do get an excellent photo of the animal.  Let me sum this up. In one quick trip this group of non-professional men managed to obtain a great video of this grass man creature, find his home, find a nest he built, have a fight with him and obtain a clear photo of him.  They then decide to pack up and waddle back to their pickup trucks and leave. Am I crazy or is this to the point of extreme insult to all our intelligences?

If any of these events took place I think the first thing you or I would do is call the local authorities. I would think they would want to see the house and nest this creature lives in along with the video, photo and abundant foot tracks of this attacking creature.  I also would think they would want to show where they had heavy rocks thrown at them and where the fresh footprints could be found before they disappeared. The encounter as they tell it was clearly a danger to the community in which it took place.

Next would it not be their place to call a professional well known organization that has been hunting these creatures for years to have them come in to investigate the house, nest, and area where this creature had been living?  I am sure many universities and researchers of all types would have wanted to have a go at this but instead they piled into their trucks and drove away! I would think if the events shown on this show actually took place it would have been a find of all time. Obviously they are funning us which is entertaining but without question the type of garbage that keeps us in the dark ages concerning all of these topics.

This show had a similar ridiculous hunt for a Mothman creature which was completely the dumbest thing I have seen in a long time. They built a huge bug zapper that they set up. The antics on this episode was childlike and over the top silly. Oh and yes they forgot to set up a camera to take a photo of the Mothman knocking down the trap and getting away. How odd, must have had a shortage of CGI funds that week so setting up a camera for the biggest event of all time was- simply forgotten!

I know this is just fun and games and realize the public does not take this TV seriously however  I must stick up for all the hard working dedicated people who do go out for weeks at a time with their own funds to truly try to find answers to all of these mysteries and unknowns. I can only imagine how insulted and deflated seeing shows like this flourish must be for them and hope in some small way I can make some of you understand that tuning on terrible shows like this one is not only taking backward steps in finding the truth. It also is an insult to all those who have spent years devoting real research and investigating in a professional manner concerning all these topics we really need to understand.

Can you imagine how far we would be with understanding the subjects that we consider paranormal if those who really want to know the truth and work in a systematic scientific and professional manner were given the money and time from TV land to really do the work? We would know what the hell is crawling around our woods, living along with us in our dimension and visiting us from places far beyond our understanding. I also know you cannot find answers in 30 or 60 minute sitcom setups. You can however make a fast buck playing upon our ignorance which is exactly what they are doing. I guess it is up to us to tune out shows that insult us in order for a difference to happen. Until then I suppose  we will be stuck with being shown this garbage.

Lughnasadh (Lugh's Commemoration)

0
0

We may learn much about where we are going today by studying our ancient spiritual heritage. The following gives us one small example.

So, how many curious individuals in contemporary society have ever pondered over the spiritual legacy left behind for us by our pre-Christian ancestors; who once dwelt in the fair green isles of Britain, etc?

Vital clues to this mysterious quest can be found in the craggy landscape and also in dusty works of mythological expression. The answers are here for us to rediscover, yet they are not always perceptible on purely logical, everyday, or mundane levels of thought process …

The initiation of August was once celebrated by our ancient Celtic ancestors with the feast of the great God 'Lugh.'

Lughnasadh (meaning commemoration of Lugh,) was one of the four great Celtic annual festivals, the other ones being: Imbolg (February 2nd,) Bealtaine/Beltane (30th April,) and Samhain (31st October.)

In Gaelic mythology Lugh is portrayed as 'Battle Leader' of the ‘Tuatha De Danann’ (Tribe of the Goddess Danu). This deity was seen as having many talents. His athletic prowess and commanding skills earned him amongst other titles: Samildanach, 'God of All Arts', and Lugh Lamhfhada, 'Lugh the Long Handed', or 'Far-shooter'. This subsequent epithet relates to Lugh's expertise with his rod sling, with which he was to later defeat the gargantuan Fomorian Giant 'Balor'. Balor was Lugh's Grandfather; this dreadful cyclopean figure needed four men to lift his baleful-eye, which could kill with a single glance. Lugh defeated the vast giant by piercing his evil eye with a stone from his magickal Slingshot. This tale gives evidence to Lugh's popular 'Light-defeating-dark' aspect that remains a primary feature of all Pagan wisdom inherent in ancient native mythology.

Incidentally, it is interesting to note that such poetic analogies of light overcoming dark (good versus evil) were evident in our indigenous Pagan culture long before Christianity first missionised these rugged shores!

Lugh was well venerated by all the Celtic peoples that inhabited this country, long before monotheistic absolutism first sought to gain spiritual monopoly of the native populace. The Welsh tribes knew him as Llew Llaw Gyffes, which marks Lugh as an exact counterpart to his Gaelic/Irish namesake. The Celts of the continent called him Lugus and this Gaulish equivalent leaves his mark in localities such as: Lugudunum, (now Lyons,) 'the town of Lugus,' Laon, and also Leyden among others. At various stages in time Lugh has been depicted as a deity of fire, corn, marriage or the Sun which has lead to some confusion as to his true identity and mythological status. The worship of Lugh first arrived in this land with the Goidelic (Gaelic) Celts (progenitors of the Irish people) around 600 BCE. This invasion was followed two hundred years later by the Brythonic (Cornish/Welsh) Celts.

Lugh (Lleu or Llew as the Brythons called him) was very much a Hero-God of the 'Hercules' type pedigree to the Celts; Llew or Lleu means Lion/Light respectively. Great tales of his brave adventures would be told on cold nights around the comforting warmth of the hearth, giving hope to the tribe in the hard lonely periods of winter's chill. This god was particularly venerated by the Celts at harvest time. His powerful energy exists resplendent in the golden fields of summer. Lugh's perceived force altered somewhat with the arrival of the Roman Legions under Caesar. The Latin conquerors eventually amalgamated their own deities with those of the Celtic peoples. Lugh was no exception; his divinity was cleverly blended with the Roman/Greek Apollo, a well beloved God who exhibited solar qualities. Lugh impressed the Romans so much that his feast-day was later re-dedicated to Augustus. The lovely month of rich harvest that Celtic people held sacred to their Corn-God eventually became known as August. Like Apollo, the question arises to whether or not Lugh was actually a Sun God proper. I personally believe that originally he was not, yet with later and greater development of agriculture (dependent upon the Sun) Lugh manifested into a deity of increasing Solar-Force.

History testifies to the fact that all deities go through cycles of transmogrification with changing development in the social structure. Such is the force of divine evolutionary progress. Modern man would do well to remember that he/she is a vital component in this ongoing natural (Earth-Orientated) advancement too!

Christian Infiltration of native faiths – a very old tactic

The personification of Lugh as a God of the ripening corn fields in August, gives us plain substantiation of our antediluvian progenitors deeply subconscious desire to (spiritually) link up with the beautiful cosmic energies inherent in nature. Lughnasadh with its rich native Pagan heritage has now been transparently Christianised under the name, 'Lammas-day'. This title is gained from the old Anglo-Saxon word 'Hl f-mass', (Loaf- Mass) which relates to the older 'Lughomass', (Lugh's-Mass.) Lugh, like other Celtic deities was taken by later Christian Norman romancers and given a new role in mythology. Lugh's heroic Pagan deeds were skillfully intermingled and euphemised into the legendary figure of Sir Lancelot.

Incidentally, it should be noted here that some scholars have linked the mysterious Lancelot to the Gaelic cultural hero figure, 'Cuchulainn' who was the result of a divine impregnation by Lugh with a maiden called Dechtir.

Christianity has always managed to infiltrate native faiths by using such tactics as this. Old Gods and Goddesses of the indigenous people have been subtly converted into heroes, saints or very often demons. This sad fact stands as a monument to the intolerance of man and the danger of monotheistic terrorism.

In the dying corn of August Lugh takes on the role of: 'God of Death and Resurrection.' A common theme throughout history, recently of course adopted by Christianity in order to correlate Christ's human aspect to the indigenous Pagan feast days that flow naturally through the year.

Such conniving missionary tactics ensured that the indigenous people of these isles would eventually discard their original 'earth-orientated' religions, in favour of the fanatical new 'man made' faith that had crept like a spiritual infection into Britain from the East.

This ancient Celtic celebration of 'First fruits,' with its delightful folklore and customs, gives us a critical clue to the ecstasy and reverence in nature felt so deeply by our pre-Christian forefathers.

Today, numerous contemporary UK Pagans, of which there are well over 250,000 (source: Occult Census, Sorcerer's Apprentice bookshop, Leeds, http://www.sorcerers-apprentice.co.uk/ ) are rediscovering anew, the spiritual wisdom that has slept quietly under a green cloak for incalculable eons. This discovery links all human spiritual/psychic experience to this planet earth, which we all know as our true home.

THE ISLE OF SOLOMON'S GOLD

0
0

The gold of King Solomon is perhaps the greatest lost treasure in history. A mountain of gold was supposedly taken from the fabulous mines of Solomon, who constructed the first temple of Israel out of gold from the land of Ophir.

Several explorers have gone on epic journeys in search of the lost gold of King Solomon, “sailing across the Red Sea, plunging down Zimbabwean gold mines, and traveling deep into the Ethiopian Bush.”

"History records that the first European to come to Solomon Islands, Alvaro De Mendana, in 1568 gave the archipelago its name because he believed this area of the South Pacific was where King Solomon got the gold he used to build the Temple of Jerusalem." (Alison Ofotalau, "The search for King Solomon's gold continues in his namesake Islands,"blogs.worldbank.org)

According to the Bible, the sources of King Solomon’s legendary wealth were the gold mines located in the mysterious land of Ophir. Yet what the Scriptures don’t tell us is where Ophir might be found today. And we still don’t know where Solomon finally stored his legendary gold; they say it was deposited in the first temple.

Abyssos (bottomless, abyss, pit): "There was a temple of Kore or Persephone, which guarded much gold from all ages and kept it sacred. In this temple there was a certain pit of gold, unseen by the many because hidden under ground."  - Suidas

Suidas was a Byzantine lexicographer who in the 10th century A.D. wrote that he had reason to believe the ancient myth of Abyssos was based on an actual place. The name Suidas may in fact stem from an error made by Eustathius, who mistook the title of the lexicon Suda, meaning fortress or stronghold, for the proper name of the author. According to the lexicon, the abyssos was not just an idiom for the bottom of the sea, but a certain pit of gold hidden underground in an unknown location where "much gold from all ages" was guarded by the followers of Kore or Persephone. ;

Today, historians know exactly where the most important treasury of the ancient Greek world was located. It was on the small rocky islet of Delos, almost touching the western tip of Mykonos. First called Ortygia (Quail Island), the islet rose from the sea according to myths and later received its new name Delos, which means revealed or brought to light. It is part of a small group of Aegean islands that took the name Cyclades, from the Greek "cyclos" (circle) because the islands form a circle around Delos, observed as the jewel in the crown of the archipelago.

The Ionians managed to develop the island into a powerful commercial and spiritual center (7th century B.C.). At the end of the 7th century B.C. a great terrace of marble lions was set up on Delos. The Delian League was inaugurated in 477 B.C. as an alliance against Persia. At its founding, the treasury was located on Delos, the ancient equivalent of Fort Knox with "much gold from all ages." During the 5th century B.C., the Athenians organized what they called a purification law for the island, forbidding the burials of the dead on it.

In 1912 archeologists discovered the ruins of a Jewish synagogue on Delos thought to date from the first century B.C. Found in the ruins was a stone chair (mentioned in Matt 23:2). This seat, sometimes referred to as the Seat of Moses, was probably used by the leader of the synagogue.

With this institution, the lion of Delos also acquired a biblical meaning: "The Lion of the tribe of Judah" (Rev 5:5). It represented the union of two religious trends: the Indo-European Zeus-Dias and the Semitic Jeu-Daea (Judea), converging into a subconscious archetype. The Seder plate of David would soon become the tryblion seal of a Hellenic abyss.

Modern historians like Gershom Scholem have protested that early Church leaders downplayed several Hebrew-Hellenic links and instead emphasized the Persian (or Iranian) influences on Judaism. What would our world be like today if the Roman Emperor Theodosius had not banned the Ancient Olympics and had not made Classical Greece “illegal” in order to establish Christianity as a state religion?

Perhaps the secret can be found on the isle of Solomon’s gold. The discovery of a Jewish synagogue at the magnificent treasury of Delos not only sheds light on lost Israelite gold. It also suggests that the “Golden Age of Hellenism” was to some extent paid for with King Solomon’s gold.

Delos was regarded as the birthplace of Apollo, the god of light, and his twin sister Artemis, and provided with the most magnificent sanctuaries. It became the most important commercial and maritime center in the Mediterranean. Amazing temples and statues graced Delos, also called the “Sacred Island.” Among its wonders was the Minoan Fountain, a public well hewn in the rock and identified by a relief bearing a dedication to "Minoan Nymphs." Delos also had a marble theater that could accommodate over 5,000 spectators, and many other imposing structures, including the House of Cleopatra and Dioscourides.

King Solomon in the Bible was also partial to exotic feminine deities, signifying that he was perhaps a follower of the Kore or Persephone cults. In 1 Kings 10:14, Solomon received 666 talents of gold per year. “Commentators are divided as to whether this represents an annual income, or the income of one particular year.”

Nebuchadnezzar II of Babylon destroyed Solomon’s Temple, also known as the First Temple, after the Siege of Jerusalem of 587 B.C. There is no direct archaeological evidence for the existence of Solomon's Temple, where his magnificent gold was supposedly stored.

The Older Parthenon (or Pre-Parthenon) was the first Greek attempt to build a sanctuary for a feminine divinity on the acropolis of Athens. The Old Parthenon was still under construction when the Persians sacked the city in 480 B.C. and razed the acropolis. The existence of the proto-Parthenon was known from Herodotus. It is repeatedly told by Freemasons that government buildings in Washington D.C. were modeled after Solomon's temple. But that city's buildings do not imitate Iranian architecture. They are copies of the Parthenon.

The Seat of Moses found in the Jewish synagogue at Delos is linked to the biblical mercy seat and perhaps to the “Siege Perilous” of some early Grail legends. It was the place of authority to teach the Law of Moses, and also a judgment seat for redressing community wrongs or grievances to the leaders of the synagogue ("There is one that accuses you, even Moses, in whom you trust." - John 5:45).

The mystical island to which the Holy Grail is brought in the Arthurian legend is called Sarras (a distinction historically kept for the Aegean group of islands). "Saracens" was a Greek designation for Arabs or Muslims who conquered the Eastern Mediterranean after the fall of Rome.

In the Lancelot-Grail Cycle, Joseph of Arimathea and his followers visit the sacred island, located somewhere north of the Nile and East of Rome, on their way to Britain. The knights Galahad, Percival, and Bors later return the Grail to Sarras aboard Solomon's ship. The name Siege Perilous (fatal seat) was first introduced (c.1200) in Boron's Joseph d'Arimathie. It was the seat from Sarras Island, according to some previous folklore, that would be specially reserved for the true knight (Sir Galahad) at the Round Table. Once, one of Joseph's followers named Moses thought to seat himself at the Siege Perilous without being worthy of esteem, but was hurled into the abyss. The Seat of Moses discovered in Delos perhaps belongs to the Sarras Island - Siege Perilous tradition.

Under the control of Rome, the treasure island of Delos was reduced to a low rank, its golden memories mostly looted by pirates, until it finally became uninhabitable. The plundered gold was in all likelihood divided between Rome (the Vatican) and the Ottoman Empire. The Ottoman Empire (sultan's authority) initially buckled in 1913. The central banking system of the United States (or Federal Reserve System) was created in 1913.

"Ten o'clock!" he cried. "Six hours. We'll do them yet," and he sprang to his feet.

In his 1883 adventure novel “Treasure Island,” author Robert Louis Stevenson gave his readers a hint of gold located “ten o'clock” from Israel Hands, the name of an 18th-century pirate.

If the early Church had not purged important Hebrew-Hellenic associations, perhaps the Wisdom of Solomon would today shine greater than that of his biographers. The present-day monotheistic notion of a solitary God - or a lone mystical being without a mate or partner of equivalent rank to communicate with - is not automatically comprehended as a good thing any longer. It is more of a religious affliction set aside for some Persian demon, backward and inhumane. (It's a crime to house the mentally ill in solitary.) Moneymaking bullying in opposition to Hellenism is nothing more than a sneaky form of antisemitism.

As luck would have it, gold was not universally recognized for its financially viable importance. The Spanish conquistadors were mainly interested in the excess of gold in the Aztec empire. But the Aztecs put no real value on gold. Tribes across the American continent used seashells as currency.

Today the “Bitcoin” is the world's first digital like-cash currency. Bitcoins are exchanged peer-to-peer just like cash, but they are “space-time storage elements” measured in bytes. Bitcoins exist as one-dimensional strings of information; they only have length. 500 gigabytes for a new dress. The Bitcoin is becoming recognized as commodity money in the same way that gold and silver are recognized as money.

SPELLBINDING ACCOUNTS OF HIDDEN TREASURES

Why are so many people fascinated by treasure? Is it purely a desire for wealth or is it also the romantic appeal of tales of lost ancient artifacts? Indeed the stories behind certain treasures, especially those looted from their archaeological context, read like a cross between Indiana Jones and James Bond. Such a case is Sevso Treasure, a hoard of 14 large silver vessels from the late Roman Empire, estimated to be worth $200 million on today’s market. Looted from an unknown Roman palace in the 1970s the story of these ‘cursed’ pieces as some researchers have called them, involves at least one possible murder, shady consortiums, allegations of forgery, and back market double-dealing. Or the celebrated Amber Room, a complete chamber decoration of amber panels backed with gold leaf and mirrors, stolen by the Nazis in 1941 from the Palace of Tsarskoye Selo, near Saint Petersburg, and brought to the castle at Königsberg (modern Kaliningrad in Russia) from where it disappeared, though rumours persist that it still survives today as a part of the Nazi loot known as the Štěchovice Treasure.

The appeal and excitement of ancient treasure and the stories connected with it is undeniable. Recent widely publicized discoveries of ancient treasure hoards such as the Staffordshire Anglo Saxon hoard, valued at £3.2 million in 2009 (see chapter in this book), the Frome hoard of 2010, and the magnificent hoard of 50,000 silver and Bronze Iron Age Celtic coins discovered in June 2012 on the island of Jersey, just off the coast of Normandy, France, have contributed to the dramatic rise in the popularity of treasure hunting and metal detecting over the last decade or so. Further afield the 1800 year-old cache of 140 gold and silver coins and gold jewelry, from the area of Kiryat Gat, in southern Israel, and the exquisite 2,400-year-old hoard of Thracian gold from a tomb in Sveshtari, Bulgaria, both discovered in 2012, show that fantastic discoveries are still being made and our knowledge of the ancient world is continually being added to.

‘Treasure' can take many forms. It might be an ancient chest brimming with gold and silver objects, a romantic image of something almost mystical hidden away and forgotten in bygone times, even a legal term defined by law to denote certain types of artifacts dug up from the ground. The 1997 Treasure Act in the UK, gives a number of different types of find which qualify as Treasure, including:

Any metallic object, other than a coin, provided that at least 10 per cent by weight of metal is precious metal (that is, gold or silver) and that it is at least 300 years old when found. If the object is of prehistoric date it will be Treasure provided any part of it is precious metal. . . All coins from the same find provided they are at least 300 years old when found . . . Only the following groups of coins will normally be regarded as coming from the same find: hoards that have been deliberately hidden . . . smaller groups of coins, such as the contents of purses, that may been dropped or lost . . . votive or ritual deposits. (http://finds.org.uk/treasure/advice/summary)

But is the human fascination with such treasure purely a desire for wealth or has it more to do with the romantic appeal of tales of lost ancient artifacts? It is certainly true that the stories behind the loss and recovery of a number of ancient treasures, like the Sevso Treasure and the Amber Room for example, read like edge of the seat fiction, somewhere between Indiana Jones and James Bond.

But treasure need not always be in the form of gold and silver jewelry, weaponry or coins, as the chapter on the incredible cache of mummies from Deir el Bahri, on the west bank of the Nile, opposite the city of Luxor, in Egypt, shows. The main connection between the treasures discussed in this work is that each has a story. From the riches of Tutankhamun's tomb in Egypt's Valley of the Kings, to the northern European hoards of the Vikings, from ancient Chinese Treasure Ships to Nazi lootings during WWII, every treasure has a fascinating tale to tell. Such stories can shed much needed light on the ancient cultures that originally deposited the artifacts, or if the objects were looted from their original context, it may be the often labyrinthine journeys of the treasures after their discovery in modern times which provide us with the astonishing narrative.

In this way the ancient and the modern combine to create a unique picture of the objects that goes beyond archaeology and history.

THE TRAIL OF THE FOURTH REICH

Peter Levenda’s rather in depth and scholarly work delves into the origins of Nazism which began far earlier than Hitler’s January 30, 1933 ascendency. Its origins wrest back to an early form of mysticism and perverted paganism; the Thule Society and German-Enoden, Theosophical, runic and magical concepts. Hitler was a “tool”, a “creature” of the occultists. In the autumn of 1915, Hitler wrote a poem praising Wotan, the Teutonic Father God, and speaks of runic letters, magic spells, formulas, and esoteric paganism.

(Unholy Alliance, Peter Levenda. The Continuum International Publishing Group, Inc. 15 East 26th Street, New York. N.Y. 10010. 2003. 423 pages. $16.95)

Hitler’s ascent was built on the belief that Germany’s failure in World War I was because of Capitalism, Communism, Freemasons and International Jewry. “If Hitler were in power, his listeners believed, he would throw out all these undesirable elements – by force of arms, if necessary – and the country would be right again.”

THE THULE SOCIETY

Hitler’s rise to power aligned with numerous occult beliefs and practices ranging from Rudolf Hess, Karl Haushofer and others promoting an universal Teutonic Lebensraum to additional occult influences of magician Aleister Crowley (in April, 1904, Crowley alleged contact with a spirit called Ainaz); The Golden Dawn; The Edelweiss Society; The Ordo Templi Orientis; German occult and sex-magic lodges; the Thule Society; Baron Rudolf von Sebottendorff.

“Although the Thule Gesellschaft had died a slow death,” said Levenda, “Sebottendorff was back to revive it.”

The Germans were finally able to supposedly locate what had destroyed their country, said Lavenda, brought them into war, made them lose the war: a cabal of Jews and Freemasons bent on world domination.

“Democracy. Freemasonry. Judaism. Secret Societies,” said Lavenda, “The Nazis were bent on removing all trace of any philosophical opposition to their cause, for they knew the power of ideas and – the quotation of Chairman Mao notwithstanding – it was far stronger than the power of a gun.”

WEWELSBURG CASTLE AND UFO

Heinrich Himmler took control of the SS (Schutzffel, Guard Detachment) and created the medieval castle Wewelsburg, Chapter of the Order, built around the notion of King Arthur and the Round Table: the Inner Circle of Twelve Gruppenfuhrers who communicated with dead Teutons and other spiritual rituals (compare this to modern legends of the secreted Skull and Bones Society in America).

(The Wewelsburg Castle was alleged to be the site of a reversed-engineered crashed alien disc with occupants.  The object appeared to be a multicolored ball or globe-shaped object which fell near a field near Czernich, Germany in the summer of 1937. The UFO was quickly cordoned off by SS troops from the Hirschberg SS Base, and the domed spacecraft was initially taken to a Base 211.  It was also said that the disc was taken to the Wewelsburg Castle and examined by the Reich’s Study Group who applied Vril Technology to a new form of propulsion. It became known as the Tachyonator 7. Said Rob Arndt: “(It was) the first human product of reverse-engineering of non-terrestrial technology”.)

“These ceremonies were replete with sacred fires, torch lit processions and invocation’s of Teutonic deities, all performed by files of young-blond-haired, blue-eyed Aryan Supermen,” said Lavenda, “Ceremonies that, according to my informants, had been revived in the Andrean Mountains….at Colonia Dignidad in the 1960s and which were still being performed there was late as my trip in 1979.”

Nazi occult practices encompassed a long range of esoteric beliefs: The Nordic World-Tree, Yggdrasil, Holy Stones, The Serpent Nidhoqur, The Ahnenerbe, The World Ice Theory Division, the Thousand Year Reich, Thor, Nordic Mother-Soul, and The Holy Grail.

ARYAN CULT

Through the efforts of Karl Maria Wiligut, Otto Rahn, and Heinrich Himmler, an Aryan Cult was created as a proto-Christian society over all Europe and Asia.

“To Hitler and his followers, capitalism was immoral and they equated it with the excesses of the Jewish financiers,” said Lavenda, “that, they said, had brought the nation to ruin during the First World War and depression that followed.”

Stripped of Jewish content, Nazi revisionists of Biblical Scriptures by German academics, people became receptive of Wiligut’s ideas; the SS belief that Christ was Baldor, and a Teutonic Sun God.  The SS became knights of a New Order.

“By claiming the Grail as their own the Nazis rob Christianity of a huge chunk of its popular mythology…as it is, history records no such discovery of the Grail by the Nazis or by anyone else.”

MIND CONTROL

Documents revealed that “mind control” experiments of the Ahnenerbe at Dachau concentration camp consisted of mescaline, canabinol, marijuana, and hypnotism. Dr. Franz Alfred Six. Ideological Research, continued to work for “special forces” through his association with the Gehlen Organization – the spy cabal of ex-Nazis used by the American CIA.  Six had been selected to work on “the Jewish problem”.

Catholic Bishop Alois Hudal sympathized with Nazi propaganda, admired the Nazi teachings of Von Liebenfels, and became Procurator of the Oder of German Knights. He aligned himself with a “neo-pagan, pan-German, volkisch movement”. Hudal worked with the underground network and established Nazi escape routes.

NAZI ESCAPE ROUTES

The Bell

Many of Heinrich Himmler’s Black Order “managed to escape and set up shop in South America”.

“Hundreds of files newly released by the Argentine government of President Menem, “ said Levenda, “show that many more Nazis managed to flee to South America than had been previously imagined”; true believers of the cult of the Black Order.

THE EVOLUTION OF SEA MONSTERS ON MEDIEVAL MAPS

Publlisher's Note: This is a classic article on sea monsters snd maps. I highly recommend it. There is far more information at http://www.livescience.com. Enjoy Dirk

By Tanya Lewis, Staff Writer

WASHINGTON — The iconic sea serpents, mermaids and other mythical creatures found on world maps from medieval and Renaissance times splash to life on the pages of a new book.

Click here to enlarge top photo.

Despite their wild appearance, many of these creatures were based on real animals.

"The creatures look purely fantastic. They all look like they were just made up," Van Duzer, a map historian at the Library of Congress, said here Thursday (Sept. 5) in a talk about his book. "But, in fact, a lot of them come from what were considered, at the time, scientific sources."

Bizarre beasts

Sea monsters on maps run the gamut from menacing sea serpents to improbable lion-fish hybrids. Many cartographers simply copied these sea monsters from illustrated encyclopedias, Van Duzer told LiveScience. At other times, particularly a period in the 16th century, mapmakers took some poetic license with the animals (like terrestrial-aquatic hybrid animals).

I’ve been looking into the ‘ levels ‘ of organization of matter in our space……… not time*

I see universal structures ‘ common ‘ in oneness of all matter.

Has our ancient knowledge been taken away or lost from mankind today?

Is the universe communicating in our fields today revealing the true source within?

These geometric designs are also common in crop circles in these last ten years.

Could these pulsating frequencies outside be affecting the frequencies inside today?

Thus effecting all biological matter depending on their vibrational state in hertz measurement?

EDGAR CAYCE'S PROPHECY HAPPENED TODAY AFTER 7.8 PAKISTAN EARTHQUAKE

0
0

Edgar Cayce’s prophecy “New Lands rise up from the sea” happened today after 7.8 Pakistan’s earthquake

After the 7.8 Pakistan earthquakes on Tuesday 9/24/13, a new island rose up from the sea witnessed by a large crowd of onlookers. The island is mountainous rose up approximately 100 feet. It was seen near the Gwadar coastline. Edgar Cayce predicted that lands would sink into the ocean as well as lands would rise up from the sea. He predicted a possible Pole shift and major earth changes during these times. The earthquake was felt all the way to New Delhi.

Large quakes can cause major deformation of the Earth’s crust and CNN has confirmed the formation of the island after the earthquake. Edgar Cayce talked about hidden islands under the sea that would rise up. It is a coincidence that we are seeing a pole shift in the North and a possible pole shift in the Sun. Cayce was called the “Sleeping prophet” because he went to a sleeplike trance and some say had access to the “Book of Life or Akashic records.” I reported a year ago on an island up near Greenland which was found after the ice melted on top of it.  Cayce’s predictions are still fascinating even today.

DEVIL'S NIGHT CONTRACT

0
0
It‘s strange the way that life and fate inadvertently cut through events at times. Moreover, it’s not every day that one gets to sign one’s soul over to the Devil.

Devil's Night is a name frequently connected to October 30, the night prior to Halloween. It is related to the Mischief Night practiced in some parts of the world. This event is chiefly associated with vandalism and other acts of antisocial silliness undertaken by the mindless yobbo element, looking for any excuse to distress other people.

Of course, we also see much disruptive activity and supplementary drunkenness at Christmas time. Some irresponsible people need very little by way of an excuse to become sillier than others.

I have just finished a brand new book. The publishers and I affectionately call this controversial work the, ‘Devil’s Book’. The name just sort of developed along the way, almost all by itself. I am not yet at liberty to disclose more data about this contentious work or its full title. However, without realising it both the publishers and I actually ‘signed’ the contract for this new book on the 30th October, Devils Night.

Call it providence if you will or perhaps some type of cosmic sign; yet to me inadvertently signing on this day out of 365 possible days seems rather noteworthy.  Naturally, this revelation will have the self-righteous missionaries popping out of the woodwork to scream ‘Antichrist’ at me.  So I thought it prudent to point all this out ‘before’ some attention-seeking evangelist got there first…

As a Pagan author I have written many things in the past about Halloween, which is of course celebrated on the 31st October.

In order to cut through festering church bigotry typically expressed at this time of year we must research the ancient tradition more closely.  Therefore, please observe this link for additional information…

More on the ‘Devil’s Book’, when I know more myself….

SCOTT CORRALES' A QUIVER OF GHOSTS

0

The ghostly traditions of Latin America have not received much attention in the English language media. Perhaps the stereotypes of fun in the sun and Carmen Miranda-type dancers make it hard to believe that hauntings form an integral part of the traditions of countries from Mexico to Argentina, with some apparitions dating back centuries. In Mexico alone we find La Llorona – the ancient Aztec goddess known a Cihuacoatl, the serpent woman, worshipped in the darkness of the temple known as Tillán by a secretive priesthood who approached her statue on their knees – whose banshee-like wails filled the streets of Tenochtitlan at night, foreshadowing the arrival of the Spanish conquistadores.

During the Colonial period of Mexican history, the creole population of viceregal Mexico City quailed in terror at the same nocturnal wailing, saying that it was the revenant of La Malinche, the late lover of the conquistador Hernán Cortés, bemoaning her betrayal of her own people. Dressed in white, her features covered by an impenetrable veil, the figure would wander the streets of the old city. According to the scholar José María Marroquí, the lateness of the hour would be broken by “the clothing, the air, the slow and steady stride of that mysterious woman and her penetrating, shrill and prolonged moan, terrifying those who saw and heard her. Some brave hearts would try to follow her, availing themselves of the moonlight, only to see her vanish upon reaching the lake, vanishing into the waters. Unable to glean more information about her, or whence she came from, she became known as La Llorona.”

Yolotl Gonzales Torres, the noted Mexican ethnographer and religious scholar, notes the following in her Diccionario de mitologia y religión de mesoamerica (Larousse,1991): Cihuacoatl displays “three characteristic aspects: screams and lamentations in the night, the presence of water, since both Aztlan (the place of origin of the Aztecs) and Great Tenochtitlan were encircled by water, and by being the patroness of the cihuateteo, who scream in the night, being women who died during childbirth and come to earth on certain days appointed to them in the calendar, haunting the crossroads, being fatal to children."

Artemio del Valle-Arizpe mentions another ghostly woman during the colonial period – one that we would classify today as a “shadow person” – wandering the streets as a dark cloud, but emitting small streams of multicolored light. A colonial gentleman decided to put an end to the mystery, boldly facing the apparition and challenging it to uncloak itself. When the dark figure moved forward, unimpressed by his challenge, he stabbed it with his sword, only to see the darkness advance along the length of the blade – streaming multicolored lights as it did so – and eventually engulfing his hand and forearm. The terrified caballero issued a scream and fell to the ground in a dead faint.

In more recent times, video evidence has emerged of a ghostly presence in the Casa de los Azulejos (House of Blue Tiles) on Calle Madero in downtown Mexico – in La Llorona’s old neighborhood. During construction work in the early years of this century, workers reported seeing a shadow descending the stairs, vanishing on one of the landings. Another presence was seen entering the building’s courtyard, which is occupied by the popular Sanborns restaurant.

Learning about the existence of ghosts in Puerto Rico is perhaps even more disconcerting for the casual reader, as one would think the sunshine and tropical breezes would serve as a barrier against the repetitive activity of restless spirits. Quite the contrary, according to folklorist Calixta Vélez, author of a number of books on children’s games. In a statement to the island’s El Nuevo Día newspaper (29 Oct 2010) Ms. Vélez observed that ghosts have always been seen in Puerto Rico, adding: “This all forms part of our oral tradition. Ghosts have always been seen in various parts, although whether this is true or not is an entirely different matter. The human mind is extremely powerful, and since we are not merely flesh, but incarnated spirits, many situations can come about. Paranormal phenomena are defined as events that are hard to explain both by science and religion.”

Spirits, notes the expert, remain on the terrestrial plane after bodily death. “Spirit transcends matter and remains on Earth for a few days after death, especially those who die suddenly. They remain where they are because they have not realized that they are no longer supposed to be there. Some remain longer, others less so. This is why they are seen so often on highways, because their deaths were so sudden.”

Religion, she believes, is charged to making sure that the spirit goes to where it is supposed to, hence the Catholic tradition of praying the Rosary for nine days after a person’s death, as it is necessary to tell the person that it is time to go. Far from being afraid, says the folklorist, if confronted by a “wandering spirit”, we should tell it that it no longer belongs to this plane and must depart.

In 1901, the Brooklyn Daily Eagle published a remarkable account of ghostly activity in Puerto Rico only a few years after the U.S. invasion of the island. Bearing the title “He Drives Up To The Castle and Cares Nothing for Sentries”, the newspaper article is centered on St. Gerónimo Castle, a 17th century Spanish fort built on the Ensenada de Boquerón, a body of water that separates the Condado Lagoon from the Atlantic Ocean. The contemporary tourist trade has come to know it as the ancient structure almost on the grounds of the Caribe Hilton hotel, or visible from the sands of the beach on the property of the Condado Plaza hotel.

Things were different in 1901, however: “Major Seldon A. Day, with two orderlies, is the sole occupant of the picturesque spot,” notes the article “and he has been quartered there since General Miles first entered San Juan. He and his dogs, cats, ponies and a Brazilian mountain lion seem to be under some sort of influence which pervades the place. For the last two winters the Major has had a houseful of guests. nearly all or more or less literary fame, who came to this secluded spot to commune with nature and take notes and weave weird stories of love and war, underground passages, haunted fortresses and the like.”

MAGICKAL BEASTS, GHOSTLY ANIMALS AND WOLVES WALKING LIKE MEN

0

Down through the ages, magickal beasts have played a prominent role in the folklore and mythology of civilizations worldwide. The Bible even records that a donkey spoke in a human tongue at the behest of the Lord. In a world filled with paranormal phenomena of all kinds, our animal friends have sometimes wrought apparent miracles and far exceeded our normal expectations of what a beast is capable of.

A new book from Global Communications called “Mythical, Magickal Beasts And Beings” examines this subject from a variety of angles. It begins with a chapter by psychic Maria D’Andrea in which she discusses, among many other things, mermaids and mermen. This is a phenomenon so old that there exist cave drawings depicting men standing on the ocean shore while mermen swim in the sea and gaze at earthly women.

“Mermaids and mermen,” D’Andrea writes, “are considered to be elementals, from the Kingdom of Nature. They are part human and part fish. The bottom part is fish and the top looks either like a handsome male or beautiful female. They can be kind and very helpful to people.”

Author Maria D'Andrea

D’Andrea recounts stories where mermaids and mermen guided people lost at sea, sometimes by projecting a haunting song that the sailors followed to safety. They disappear afterwards, leaving the rescued seamen wondering if they had really witnessed the strange creatures at all. Conversely, there are legends of mermaids leading sailors to their deaths on jagged rocks by singing an irresistible song. As elementals, they can reportedly also shape shift and appear completely human, legs and all. They are then said to mate with humans and produce children, who by the time they reach puberty begin to become aware of their own supernatural abilities.

Psychic and physical vampires, the siblings of dragons, and a giant chicken leg are also covered in D’Andrea’s chapter, providing a well-rounded overview of some of the stranger magickal animals stories available.

After Penny Melis’ excellent history of faeries and little people, I contribute stories about the appearances of ghostly cats and dogs, which is a more frequent occurrence than you might think.

Opinion is divided as to whether our animal friends have a soul that survives after death. The notion may strike even those who consider themselves spiritual and class themselves as believers in God and the afterlife as abhorrent, since only humankind, in their belief system, truly possesses the God-given attribute of a personal soul. But in spite of that kind of human-centered cynicism, there are a great many who believe that animals do possess a soul, one that lives on after physical death and even returns from some ghostly netherworld to appear to the living for any number of reasons.

There is, for example, the story of a cat haunting a lighthouse. According to a newspaper called “The Cleveland Plain Dealer,” “For years, volunteers who worked evenings in the lighthouse museum in Fairport Harbor spoke of an eerie presence in the darkened tower. Curator Pamela Brent swears that on several occasions she saw the wispy gray spirit of a cat. Skeptics dismissed the ghost story as ridiculous – until this winter. Workers installing air conditioning vents discovered the mummified remains of a gray cat in a crawlspace. Brent said that the wife of one lighthouse tender kept several cats in the quarters. They believe the cat unearthed during the winter renovations was trapped for years in the crawlspace, somehow preserved in the cold, dark basement.”

Brent said that from time to time she would glimpse the cat skittering across the floor like it was playing. One night, as she lay in bed, she felt the presence of the cat jump on her and was even aware of its weight pressing on her. She was at first quite frightened, but she said she has come to accept ghosts, even ghostly cats, as a natural part of the world.

There is also the 1931 story of a family in the UK who discovered a mongoose scratching and making rustling noises behind the wooden walls of their farmhouse. At first, they thought it was a rat, but then the creature began to make odd noises, including growling like a dog and gurgling like a baby. The creature soon revealed the ability to speak and introduced itself as Gef, calling itself a mongoose and claiming to have been born in India in 1852. Only the family’s daughter was able to see Gef clearly, and she described him as being the size of a small rat with yellowish fur and a large bushy tale. A real Indian mongoose, however, is much larger than a rat and does not have a bushy tale.

In any case, Gef at times claimed to be “an extra clever mongoose,” and “an earthbound spirit,” and “a ghost in the form of a weasel.” He once told the family, “I am a freak. I have hands and I have feet, and if you saw me you’d faint, you’d be petrified, mummified, turned into a stone or a pillar of salt!”

In common with many poltergeists, Gef had an uneven temper, threw objects at people, and made exaggerated claims about his powers. But he generally remained friendly to the family and even spied on the neighbors for them, reporting back what he had learned.

After the story of Gef became popular in the British tabloid press, several psychic investigators visited the farm to see for themselves. One in particular said he believed the family was “sincere, frank and simple,” and left believing their claims were true.

And what of the Biblical talking donkey mentioned at the beginning of this article? The Book of Numbers, Chapter 22, relates the famous story of Balaam’s ass. Balaam was an evil figure of boundless greed whose initial intent was to bear witness against the people of Israel and their God in exchange for wealth from their enemies. As he left on his donkey to do the foul deed, an angel appeared to him.

Beginning with verse 21, “So Balaam rose in the morning and saddled his ass, and went with the princes of Moab. But God’s anger was kindled because he went; and the angel of the Lord took his stand in the way as his adversary. Now he was riding on the ass, and his two servants were with him. And the ass saw the angel of the Lord standing in the road, with a drawn sword in his hand; and the ass turned aside out of the road, and went into the field; and Balaam struck the ass, to turn her into the road.”

After Balaam repeatedly struck the ass, the poor beast, still afraid of the angel, laid itself down beneath its cruel master and a conversation ensued.

“Then the Lord opened the mouth of the ass,” the Biblical account continues, “and she said to Balaam, ‘What have I done to you, that you struck me these three times?’ And Balaam said to the ass, ‘Because you have made sport of me. I wish I had a sword in my hand, for then I would kill you.’ And the ass said to Balaam, ‘Am I not your ass, upon which you have ridden all your life long to this day? Was I ever accustomed to do so to you?’ And he said, ‘No.’”

At that point, the Lord opened the eyes of Balaam and revealed the angel, sword in hand, standing nearby. The angel asked Balaam why he had struck the donkey again and again. The angel then told Balaam that had the donkey not had the presence of mind to turn aside from the path of the angel, the angel would have angrily killed Balaam and let the donkey live. Balaam then repented of his evil and, in a complete reversal of character, told the enemies of Israel that he could now only speak the words that God put into his mouth. He blessed the Lord’s Chosen People instead of cursing them. It is easy to imagine that hearing one’s own donkey speak in human language would put the fear of God into anyone.

Returning to the subject of ghostly animal appearances, the next section of “Mythical, Magickal Beasts And Beings” is a reprint of the book “Animal Ghosts, Or Animal Hauntings And The Hereafter,” by Elliot O’Donnell. The book is a treasure trove of ghostly animal anecdotes, ranging from cats to dogs to horses, and even pigs, elephants and birds are included. The book is a classic of its kind, and the language is old-fashioned in an elegant way, with O’Donnell arguing throughout that the members of the animal kingdom are just as possessed of immortal souls as the so-called “superior” human race.

“Consider the case of one of our four-footed friends – the dog,” writes O’Donnell in his introduction. “The faithful, affectionate, obedient and forgiving dog, the dog who is so often called upon to stand all sorts of rough treatment, and is shot or poisoned, if, provoked beyond endurance, he at last rounds on his persecutors and bites. And the cat – the timid, peaceful cat who is mauled and all but pulled in two by cruel children, and beaten to jelly when in sheer agony and fright it scratches. Reflect again on the cow and sheep, fed only to supply our wants; shouted at and kicked, if, when nearly scared out of their senses, they wander off the track; and pole-axed, or done to death in some equally atrocious manner when the sickening demand for flesh food is at its height.

“And yet, you say, these innocent, unoffending – and I say, martyred – animals are to have no future, no compensation. Monstrous! Absurd! It is an effrontery to common sense, philosophy – anything, everything. It is a damned lie, damned bigotry, damned nonsense. The whole animal world will live again, and it will be man – spoilt, presumptuous, degenerate man – who will not participate in another life, unless he very much improves.”

O’Donnell’s argument implies that animals are equally worthy of returning to haunt the living because of the horrible injustices they have suffered, to seek vengeance on the human world that subjected them to a cruel death or a lifetime of mistreatment. Whatever unrest of the soul drives a deceased human being to revisit the locale of their unhappy passing can also make an animal walk the halls of its former home to bear witness to its torment.

THE OLMECS AND THE BASALT DISK

During the excavations of the ancient Olmec capital of San Lorenzo Tenochtitlan city, archaeologists found a basalt disk with two carved prints resembling eagle claws, as well as a damaged sculpture of a jaguar with an open mouth and crossed front paws (one of them damaged). These artifacts could belong to some notable resident.

In the Mexican state of Veracruz on the territory of an archaeological Olmec ceremonial center of San Lorenzo Tenochtitlan, two pieces of art created about three thousand years ago and related to the mysterious Olmec culture were found. The discovery made near the Palacio Rojo (Red luxury palace), a home of the rulers of the first capital of Olmec. Currently 25 percent of the total area of the palace complex has been excavated.

Publisher's Note: Came across this article on the English.Pravda.Ru website and thought it was worth sharing because of the discovery of the Basalt-Disk in Mexico. In the pre-Hispanic period on the territory of the modern state of Veracruz there were four Indian cultures. Huastec and Otomi lived in the north, and Totonac in the northern and central part of the state. The Olmecs, the representatives of one of the oldest cultures in the Americas, dominated the southern part of today's Veracruz. Representatives of this people inhabited the coastal plain areas of today's states of Veracruz and Tabasco (southeast of Veracruz) sometime between 1000 through 300 years BCs.

Archaeologists have discovered several Olmec centers in Veracruz, including San Lorenzo and Tres Zapotes. These settlements were probably the most complex "ceremonial" centers throughout Mesoamerica during its prime. For this reason, many anthropologists consider the Olmec culture to be the mother of many subsequent mid-American cultures. San Lorenzo Tenochtitlan is the ancient capital of the Olmec, whose construction was commenced in about 1800 BC., and the peak of prosperity of the city took place in 1000-1400 BC.

At the time, the city spread over an area of 2.2 thousand square meters and could permanently host a thousand to 1,200 residents. Today, San Lorenzo Tenochtitlan is a collective name of three extensive archaeological sites - San Lorenzo, Tenochtitlan and Potrero Nuevo. Incidentally, this Tenochtitlan is not to be confused with the Aztec capital located on the territory of contemporary Mexico City.

"San Lorenzo, undoubtedly, is the most unusual of all the pre-Columbian culture centers in the New World," argued Valery Gulyaev, PhD, professor of historical sciences, and an expert on ancient civilizations of the Institute of Archaeology RAS "All of its buildings and facilities now hidden inside the earthen hills stood on the flat top of a steep and precipitous plateau rising above the savanna to a height of nearly 50 meters. During the rainy season the entire surrounding plain was filled with water, and only the high plateau of San Lorenzo, like adamantine rock, stood in splendid isolation in the midst of the raging elements. Nature seemed to have purposely created a safe haven for people."

It turned out that at least the top six or seven meters of the plateau with all its ridges and ravines were the creation of engineering thought and human hands. It is surprising how it was possible to shovel such a mountain of earth with no special equipment. This is one of the puzzles of this nation.

The Olmec culture is famous for basalt head sculptures, some weighing nearly 40 tons and having a height of about three meters. These colossal heads are located in these exact areas. Basalt was delivered from a quarry located 80 kilometers away, and according to some scholars, ornamental material was likely delivered on rafts. In many Olmec settlements pyramidal hills were discovered. The Olmecs could be engaged in cultivation of crops and fishing. By the year 300 BC., the Olmec civilization has died out due to unknown reasons.

Archaeological excavations have revealed another surprising peculiarity. When a series of stone statues found previously or during ongoing excavations were mapped, they formed rows stretching from north to south. In addition, each monument of San Lorenzo was intentionally broken or damaged, and then laid on a special bed of red gravel and covered with a thick layer of earth and garbage.

According to the newspaper El Universal Veracruz, archaeologists found a basalt disc with a diameter of 61 cm, with two carved prints resembling eagle claws, as well as a damaged sculpture weighing 300 kg and depicting a jaguar with an open mouth and its front paws crossed, one of them damaged. Presumably, the artifacts found could belong to a notable resident.

During excavations on the territory of the Red Palace, archaeologists discovered incomplete or damaged sculptures made of basalt in homes and warehouses. Since this ornamental material was delivered from remote areas and was highly valued, the Olmecs did not discard damaged products but used them to create new works of art.
